Andrea is an experienced British Wheel of Yoga teacher training tutor who will help you decide whether the path of teaching yoga is right for you. You will get a good grounding for whatever next steps you choose to take on your continuing yoga journey. You must have attended weekly yoga classes for a minimum of two years to take this course and it's recommended that you continue to attend your usual weekly class throughout. Andrea says: "I see myself as a sensitive and curious teacher and geeky introvert! I love creating and holding a space for people to come into to explore themselves through yoga. I find it a joy and a privilege to see people's courage and determination as they face challenges in life, to learn, heal and evolve." Andrea has been teaching yoga since 1994 and training yoga teachers with the British Wheel of Yoga since 2003. As a Certified Advanced Rolfer with a degree in biochemistry, Andrea continues to study anatomy, spirituality and the body-mind connection. She brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to her teaching and is committed to providing opportunities for yoga teachers and students to learn and grow.

  • Consolidate your own practice and relationship to yoga to provide a good foundation before starting to think about teaching others

  • Receive a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Foundation Course certificate on completion

Start from where you are

This first sutra, written around 1,700 years ago, can be translated as - "now the teaching and study of yoga begins".

Whatever your style of yoga practice, your physical abilities, injuries or medical conditions, yoga starts from wherever you are right now. All yoga practitioners with 2+ years of yoga class attendance are welcome on this course.

The course takes place 21st March -5th December 2026 plus a pre-course online module. The course will be closed for late applications on 21st May 2026.

Places are limited to 18 students and there is an admissions process, which begins by you submitting an application form and includes attendance at an introductory workshop on Zoom. 

So get your application in soon! There's no obligation to join the course until you accept a formal offer of a place after an informal interview. When the course is full, applicants will be added to a waiting list.


Please note that this is a BWY Foundation Course designed as a precursor to yoga teacher training or to deepen your personal practice. This is NOT a yoga teacher training qualification.
